This past week, Disney has finally pulled back the curtain and revealed a detailed first look at the new land, which according to Disney Parks Blog, will be on display officially at the 2017 D23 Expo this upcoming weekend.

Star Wars land is going to take visitors into a whole other world with a shockingly realistic design. Disney Parks Blog covers two of the signature attractions. The first allows for guests to “take control” of the Millennium Falcon, where they will participate in secret missions. The second places guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

The 50-foot model is just a glance into what the Disney land will entail. According to Hollywood Reporter, the development team based their design off of some real-world locations such as Istanbul and Morocco. They used these areas to study architecture, culture, weather, and so on.

The intentions for creating Star Wars land at both the Disney World and Disneyland locations was officially announced to the public at the 2015 D23 Expo, and they are excited to finally reveal, two years later, the completed design for the new coming land.

Walt Disney Imagineering executive Scott Trowbridge released a statement to the winter 2015 issue of Disney twenty-three:

“Our intent is to make it feel as if you just walked into one of the movies… Bringing Star Wars to life in the physical world gives us the opportunity to play with a whole bunch of things we’ve never done before… to really engage all of the senses. What does that street feel like? What does that animal smell like? What does blue milk taste like?”

Statistic Brain estimates that the total Star Wars Franchise Revenue is approximately 27 billion dollars – a number not to be taken lightly. Star Wars has one of the largest fanbases on the planet, and to bring the new Star Wars land to Disney will bring many Disney and/or Star Wars fans together to one of the happiest places on earth.
